Nursery Room Leader

Circa £18, 000 dependent on experience
Our client is seeking an experienced Nursery Room Leader with good leadership skill and an eye for detail. Must be qualified to at least NVQ level 3 qualification (any other certificates relating to nursery nurse or management would be beneficial). Must have an Enhanced DBS or willing to do one.
The role:
- To understand the importance in supporting anti-racist and anti-sexist practices within a nursery.
- To provide a safe and stimulating environment
- To plan a fun, stimulating and varied curriculum including in and outdoor activities
- To maintain care and safety of equipment together with other staff remove any items that contravene health and safety.
- To provide appropriate discipline and be aware of any social, racial problems within the nursery
- To provide support in the production and use of learning journey folders.
- To demonstrate to be an effective and supportive team player
- To be able to offer support, guidance and encouragement to team members in order for them to develop to their full potential.
- To be able to organize team meetings.
- To demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of parents of young children.
- To communicate effectively with parents and outside professionals on issues directly arising with children at the nursery
- To be overall responsible in the absence of the nursery owner and Deputy Manager and to continue to follow the nursery policy and provide continuing high standards
- To deal with telephone enquiries in a professional manner
- To be able to open and close the nursery premises
- To be flexible to changes, which may arise, to make changes to routines and procedures to benefit the children, staff and nursery.
