Croydon

Temporary Contract (3 Months) – 36 Hours per week

£23.22 per hour

The Information Manager and their team will drive forward the IM agenda on a day to day basis. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) running the IM programme (e.g. training, communication, policy review), putting in place appropriate Records Management across the organisation and being the single point of contact for IM.  The role will also develop and deliver detailed information management reporting to the organisation.

The Information Manager will develop, implement and support systems and practices which facilitate compliance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, the Environmental Information Regulations and the Data Protection Act.  Working closely with the legal team, this role ensures that legal and best practice requirements are met in relation to FOI, EIR, DP, in particular meeting deadlines, as well as improving the reporting of trends and issues relating to FOI.

The successful candidate:

  • Information management qualification, minimum of certificate of higher education, more likely degree and ideally chartered membership of appropriate information management body
  • Experience or qualification in Records Management
  • Evidence of recent ICT competencies, at minimal level ECDL or demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of information access and public records legislation
  • Qualification or experience in archives management
  • Good understanding of: The Data Protection Act (1998); The Freedom of Information Act (2000);
  • Health and Safety at Work Act (1974)
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills using a range of methods including delivering presentations, writing complex reports and letters in plain English and confidently speaking to senior colleagues, elected councillors and members of the public
