Temporary Contract

£25.00 per hour

As the Capital Works Delivery Manager, you will provide excellent customer service to residents, leaseholders and stakeholders (both internal & external), and manage and implement schemes, projects and programmes of capital and revenue works as required to be delivered by Property Services Directorate by introducing and managing internal and external resources as required.

You will lead, manage, develop and appraise the capital works team, set objectives, priorities and deadlines, allocate and delegate projects as required.  This will include monitoring work for quality, resident satisfaction and satisfactory financial performance and provide the statistical data to evidence performance.  You will have the knowledge and expertise to bring together external and internal expertise and resources in order to procure major refurbishment projects, either traditionally or from within existing framework agreements. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of the Construction or Maintenance Industry including Health and Safety management.
  • Financial and budgeting skills in order to set, forecast and manage budgets, understand risk profiles and explore opportunities to achieve best value for money.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of risk management in a range of environments in order to take informed decisions.
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to schedule work using IT solutions.
  • Experience of managing contractors.
  • Experience of leading and managing effective teams, creating an environment which supports creativity.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels.
  • An inquisitive approach to learning from best practice.
  • An assertive and pro-active approach to resolving technical and people issues and identifying opportunities for improvement or resolution.
  • Ability to challenge and influence for maximum impact.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
