Key Worker (Semi-Independent Living Skills)

Our client is seeking a Key Worker to work in line with the Children’s Act (Leaving Care) 2000 and the five outcomes under ‘Every Child Matters’.  You will safeguard and ensure the welfare of service users and monitor and ensure the care and wellbeing of the young person living independently.  This will involve assisting and supporting the young person to acquire skills for independent living.  You will also keep detailed records of contact, incidents and significant events and liaise and work in partnership with relevant agencies and professionals involved with the care of the young person.


  • Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • 2 years experience in the related filed of working with vulnerable young people either as a volunteer or an employee
  • Understanding of the ‘Five Outcomes’
  • VQ level 3 in Health and Social Care Children and Young People Workforce (QCF); or equivalent.
  • Safe guarding training (or willingness to complete)
  • Prevent training (or willingness to complete)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with young people, outside agencies, such as Social Services, Y.O.T., police as well as colleagues and managers.
  • Effective numeracy skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Competent record keeping
  • Ability to write clear, accurate reports and letters
