Full Time Temporary Contract

£14.44 per hour

Within this role you will be part of a team that provides quality customer information on highway works and seeks to continually improve how this is delivered.  Being part of a small team responsible for ensuring high quality information is communicated to customers both in advance of works, during and after using the most appropriate mediums. 

There will be the need to work closely with a range of service providers and stakeholders which will involve considerable coordination.   The works programmes are very extensive (running to several hundred schemes / functions per annum) and often change at short notice, directly impacting on customers.

The role plays an important role in ensuring that highway works are effectively communicated to all stakeholders in a timely and professional manner across a range of mediums.  The post holder will assist with work in a customer focused technical area in order that statutory and policy compliance is maintained.

Requirements:

  • Experience of operational and administrative NRSWA & TMA activities, including specialised computer systems, including a knowledge and understanding of the principles of a Permit scheme.
  • Technical knowledge of NRSWA and TMA and the application of the legislation in coordinating and ensuring compliance of work on the highway.
  • Good written and oral communication skills to deal with Customers/the Public/works promoters both over the telephone and in face to face meetings.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan a mixed workload of programmed and responsive tasks, making best use of personal resources to achieve performance objectives.
  • Good level of IT skills and experience using management database systems, email and MS Office.
  • Prepared on occasions to attend meetings on site and at other stakeholder's offices, to support colleagues in the Network Coordination Team.
