Description

Our client is a family run business with a high standard of service and so the successful applicant will need to have a good manner with customers, be reliable and confident in driving a 3.5t Mercedes Sprinter or similar sized van.

They are looking to hire 2/3 experienced drivers for the temporary to permanent role (should you be successful after 13 weeks they will hire you permanently).

Hours:

Monday to Friday

42.5 Hours per week

Occasional overtime opportunities

Working hours vary per depot (example 6am or 6.30am start)


Role:

After completing an initial training period, the successful applicant will be responsible for the servicing, emptying, restocking and cleaning of our portable toilets and customer’s units on a given route within the boundaries of the hiring depot

Our client is the largest independent portable toilet company in the South East of England, operating from 6 regional depots. In the main our units are hired out to construction sites but may also be located in commercial and domestic settings

The units are attended by the operatives once a week where the effluent is removed with specialist equipment and the unit is then restocked and cleaned. During some rounds you may be asked to deliver a new unit to a site or collect one that has been off hired. The day ends with a visit to a sewage works to empty the van before proceeding to the yard where there may be repairs and other work to be completed before the day’s work is finished

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence, no more than six penalty points and held for a minimum of 5 years (Note: A licence check will be carried out if successful)
  • You will be required to undertake an informal manoeuvring and basic skills appraisal as part of training
  • Previous driving experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good customer relation skills and a presentable demeanour with a ‘can do’ attitude
