Interview Advice

  • Preparation is the key to performing well in interviews.  Research the organisation and the role you are applying for.
  • Dress smartly and speak clearly.  Try not to let your nerves show too much.  Nerves are normal, but could affect your performance.
  • Don't be late.  Find out where the interview is beforehand, how to get there and how long it will take.
  • Prepare for your interview, read the person specification/job description and prepare answers to questions you will expect to be asked.
  • You are selling yourself - be positive but remain truthful.
  • Focus your answers on what you can bring to the organisation.
  • Think of some questions to ask at the end of the interview.  You can use this to find out more about the company and your role.
  • When discussing salary, start by quoting a little higher than current market values.
  • Ensure you turn off your mobile phone.
  • Obtain feedback on your interview (whether you were successful or not).
